The Start Here Volunteer Leadership Conference is designed to engage and educate nonprofit professionals and civic leaders on ways to develop their organization’s volunteer program. The success of civic and nonprofit organizations within the Memphis community relies solely on the shoulders of local volunteers. However, many local nonprofits and civic groups are not skilled in recruiting, retaining, and managing their volunteer program for longevity. This conference will consist of nine educational sessions with one keynote speaker.

While leadership conferences of this kind normally cost $400-$800 to attend, the Start Here Volunteer Leadership Conference is a free resource for those ready to invest in the success of their volunteer program and civic organization. Keynote Speaker

Dr. Karren D. Todd is a dynamic speaker, powerful motivator, author and certified professional coach. After serving 15 years in full-time ministry, with eight years as Senior Associate Pastor, Karren shifted to serving God as the Executive Director of POWER Ministries, Inc and CEO of Empowerment Coaching and Consulting. Karren supports clients in ministry and in the marketplace through individual and group coaching, workshops, pastoral counseling and church consulting. Some of her corporate clients/keynotes have included FedEx, Regional One Health, Methodist Lebonheur Healthcare, Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, Shelby County Schools and the City of Memphis.

Call For Presenters

The Start Here Volunteer Leaders Conference is seeking proposals for content workshops that are geared toward audiences actively engaged in volunteer management, civic and community leadership, and professional development. Sessions should be designed to engage individuals regarding social good, volunteerism, and civic and community engagement.

The submission process consists of providing your presenter information AND session information. Once submitted, it will be reviewed by the workshop committee, and you will be notified if you are selected. The deadline to submit your proposal is Friday, April 14th.
